ziglyph grew out of one person's two loves: Apple computers and good design.
Zaur's friendship with the Apple Macintosh began in 1997, when he was production manager of the Baku Sun, an English-language newspaper in Baku, Azerbaijan. A year later he started his own company, azeriMAC, to sell and service Macs, and became the only Apple-certified service engineer in the country, the person Mac users called when something went wrong. He then trained as a graphic designer, and azeriMAC grew into ziglyph, a design studio that created identities for state agencies, banks, hotels and much-loved local brands, and built Azerbaijan Pages, one of the first professional iPhone apps made in Azerbaijan.
After moving to the United States, he spent more than a decade in corporate IT, learning how technology behaves at scale and what it takes to keep it secure and reliable.
All of that shapes how the studio works today. Every app is designed with the same care as a brand identity and built the way a service engineer would want it: simple to use, careful with your data and made to last.
Zaur leads ziglyph as its founder and consultant, sharing his vision with the people carrying the work forward, his son among them, as they build on what he started.
